Suspended Electromagnet - SE 700 U/M Explosion Proof
For hazardous environments.
The 700 series of explosion-proof electromagnets provide automatic, positive removal of tramp iron from large quantities of material on fast moving conveyors and unparallel protection against fires or explosions.
These electromagnets, equal model for model in magnetic strength to Eriez oil–cooled units, automatically remove large amounts of tramp iron from heavy burdens on belt conveyors or chutes.
Eriez pioneered the development of oil–cooled suspended electromagnets. This series of explosion–proof dry electromagnets is an extension of these earlier developments to provide maximum efficiency, the greatest possible protection against damaging tramp iron, and safety of operation in hazardous atmospheres.
With these electromagnets, you get automatic, positive removal of tramp iron from large quantities of material on fast moving conveyors and unparalleled protection against fires or explosions.
These are the only tramp iron removing electromagnets in the world that are:
• Listed by Underwriters Laboratories (Series 700U)
• Approved by the Canadian Standards Association
• Certified by the Mine Safety & Health Administration (Series 700)
• Acceptable to Mill Mutuals
• Checked by the Casualty Department of UL for compliance with OSHA standards for mechanical safety (Series 700)
HI-GRADIENT CIRCUIT
The explosion proof electromagnets employ a Hi–Gradient circuit scientifically balanced to make full use of the magnet’s high permeability steel members for most efficient magnetic field distribution. This circuit produces maximum force density at a selected working distance from the magnet face. Combined with the application know how available from Eriez’ experienced magnetics engineers, this circuit assures optimum tramp iron separation.
The air–cooled suspended electromagnets have greatly reduced power consumption (up to 60 percent in some sizes) as compared to oil–cooled models. They use a smaller, less expensive rectifier to convert normal plant alternating current into the required direct current. Since they require no oil or other coolant fluids they eliminate possible leaks and the replacement of expensive fluids. The air–cooled magnets average 13% lighter than oil–cooled models, thus reducing shipping costs.
